It is a document preparation system commonly used by scientists, engineers, mathematicians and other professionals. Unlike a typical word processor such as MS Word, it uses a plain text markup language which is compiled into a PDF document using optimal typographical rules. This results in professional-looking documents that are of a different class to the output from a word processor.

EPUB stands short for electronic publication and it is an ebook file format that uses the ".epub" file extension. It is an open standard created by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). The EPUB format is a vendor-independent XML-based e-book format. It is designed for reflowable content, that can adapt its presentation to the reader device.
